DELFIN ALBANO, ISABELA. Sixteen Local Government Units (LGUs) in the Province of Isabela are among the passers and recipients of the prestigious Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) of the Department of the Interior and Local Government or DILG for this year, namely Alicia, Angadanan, Aurora, Benito Soliven, Cabagan, Cordon, Delfin Albano, Divilacan, Echague, Luna, Mallig, Naguilian, Quirino, Roxas, San Mateo, and Tumauini. The municipality of Delfin Albano, Isabela has been awarded the SGLG five times which the DILG said is a “significant achievement, and being a consistent passer is a rare feat that has been accomplished since 2015. The SGLG requires LGUs to pass all 10 governance areas- financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection and sensitivity, health compliance, and responsiveness, sustainable education, business-friendliness, and competitiveness, safety, peace and order, environmental management, tourism, heritage development, culture and arts, and youth development. LGUs that meet the minimum criteria will not only be conferred with the Seal of Good Local Governance but will also be entitled to a package of incentives to finance their local development initiatives and access to other programs and capacity development assistance from the DILG. The SGLG, also known as “Pagkilala sa Katapatan at Kahusayan ng Pamahalaang Lokal”, is awarded by the DILG annually to deserving provinces, cities, and municipalities that perform well in various fields.
